Atwater Library and Computer CentreThe minutes of the Mechanics Institute of Montreal and the Atwater Library and Computer Centre are in a variety of formats. From 1828 to June 27 of 1955, they are exclusively in bound form, handwritten in minute books. After 1955, minutes are on loose pages filed by year, although minute books also exist for the years of 1978 to 1979, and 1982 to 1983. The minute books up to November 25 of 1861 have been scanned into electronic format to be made accessible through the Atwater Library and Computer Centre website.
The photo collection comprises slides of the library and slides created for informational purposes related
to the library's events; photos taken for architectural analysis of the Atwater Library building in 1980 and
1990; and photos of persons of important status within the Institute and of library personnel and guests
at a variety of library functions.

Registers for the library include visitors books, a donation book, daily logs of the library, and lists of members. These lists of members exist both as created lists and in the form of receipt books from the purchase of Annual Memberships and Membership Renewals.
Scrapbooks of the Mechanics' Institute of Montreal are in the form of bound scrapbooks filled with newspaper clippings related to events held at the Institute and publicity for its activities. A separate binder contains all records related to the Norman Rockwell Exhibition held at the Atwater Library and Computer Centre in 2000.
